Eleven by Lauren Myracle
Rating: 4
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Intended Audience: Girls, 11 and up
Pages: 201
Summary: Winnie turns 11 and she knows things are going to change. Her best friend, Amanda, might leave her to be friends with someone else. Her older sister is grumpy, 24/7, and her cat gets into some trouble. She is forced to go ice skating with the class clown. Winnie wants to stay the same, even though things are going to change. She might just change too...
My thoughts: I thought this book was good. I liked how each chapter is a different month. It showed the change over time throughout the book well. I liked the main character, Winnie. She was very believable and I felt like I could relate to her. Her feelings made her more believable because a regular 11 year old would be the same way. At some points the story became a little slow but then it sped up again. This book was a easy read for me, no hard words, and it was easy to understand. I would recommend this book for people who want a easy, but good, funny read.
